Amy Camarena, Research Assistant

Camarena is a post-baccalaureate research intern gaining research experience in preparation for doctoral program applications. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Clinical Psychology from Tarleton State University in May 2026. Her research interests include ethnic identity and adolescent mental health and development with a focus on immigrant populations. Amy plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and a career as a Counseling Psychologist.

Keeley Campbell, Research Assistant

Campbell is a post-baccalaureate research intern, gaining research experience as a research assistant in preparation for doctoral program applications. She transferred from McLennan Community College with an Associate's degree in General Studies to Tarleton State University Waco, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in General Psychology in May 2026. Her research interests include trauma and adverse childhood experiences, dysfunctional family patterns, developmental psychopathology, emotional development, friendships/romantic relationships, and identity formation. Her future aspirations consist of becoming a licensed psychologist who specializes in research and clinical work with children and adolescents.

Courtney Cockerham, Research Assistant

Cockerham earned her bachelor's degree in psychology at Tarleton State University Waco in May 2026. She is currently in a gap year gaining more experience and building her skills as an independent researcher through the Waco Youth Development Project. Her research interest includes identity development, identity capital, life skills, existential inspiration, purpose and meaning in life, and positive development. She is particularly interested in working with disadvantaged and at-risk populations through program development that can be implemented in schools and communities.

Kyle Eichas, Researcher

Eichas is Professor of Psychology at Tarleton State University Waco. He received a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Austin College and an MA in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He received the PhD in Psychology from Florida International University, where he completed his doctoral training with William M. Kurtines in the Developmental Science program. Eichas joined the faculty at Tarleton State University in 2012, advancing to full professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences in 2021. His scholarly interests include community-supported outreach research, positive youth development, and the applied developmental science of identity.

Cory Kreder, Research Assistant

Kreder is a post-bacc research intern gaining research experience for doctoral program applications. He received a B.S. in Pre-Clinical Psychology from Tarleton State University in May 2026. His main research objectives include resilience development through psychosocial factors with an emphasis on the neurophysiology of resiliency pathways and structural neuroplasticity. Kreder plans to pursue a Ph.D. in either Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Clinical Neuropsychology with the intention of acquiring an EPPP license to practice. He is specifically interested in working with the Veteran population while continuing his interest in Psychological sciences research.

Korina Odom, Researcher

Odom is Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Texas at Tyler, receiving her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from University of Alabama in 2026. Her scholarly interest includes how relationships between individuals and their developmental contexts foster positive adolescent development (e.g., competence, interpersonal relationships, adjustment, online environments and behaviors). Her second line of research focuses on designing and implementing research-informed programming tailored to community priorities with emphasis on undergraduate research development and community education workshops.

Aislinn Ohrstrom, Research Assistant

Ohrstrom is a post-baccalaureate research intern gaining research experience in preparation for doctoral program applications. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tarleton State University in May 2026. Her research interests include parent-child relationships, anxiety and attachment styles, and human behavior. Ohrstrom plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and a career as a clinical psychologist specializing in adolescent psychology.

Lillian Snider, Research Assistant, Lab Coordinator

Snider is a master’s student in the Applied Psychology program at Tarleton State University, where she also earned her B.S. in Pre-Clinical Psychology, minor in Sociology in May 2025. Her research focuses on identity development within postsecondary educational environments, with an emphasis on how they shape students’ identities, well-being, and success. She is particularly interested in community college students, transfer students, mentoring relationships, sense of belonging, and student engagement. After completing her master’s degree, Snider plans to pursue a Ph.D. in developmental or educational psychology and a career as a research scientist in academia.

Zachary Stickley, Researcher

Stickley is a senior research analyst at the University of Georgia where he pursues his research interests in measurement design, applied latent variable modeling, and modern approaches to missing data. Dr. Stickley has also served as an instructor and coordinator for the Stats Camp Foundation since first joining the team as a graduate student in 2018. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from College of Education at Texas Tech University with a focus on research methodology, measurement design, and statistical modeling. He received his Master of Education degree from Texas Tech University and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tarleton State University.

Leanna Wasilonski, Research Assistant

Wasilonski is a third-year undergraduate student at Tarleton State University pursuing her B.S in Pre-Clinical Psychology. Her research interests focus on how developmental trauma and adversity influence emotional regulation, brain architecture, attachment behaviors, identity development, and social relationships across the lifespan. She is also interested in the mechanisms underlying somatic and body-based approaches to trauma recovery, particularly bottom-up regulation. Passionate about direct clinical work, she plans to pursue her master's degree in social work or clinical mental health counseling. Wasilonski hopes to help close the research-to-practice gap by thoughtfully applying evidence in clinical settings and building a career grounded in compassionate, research-informed care that supports healing and resilience.
